When COVID-19 hit in 2020, life came to a standstill; a teacher was down with dengue fever in a hospital. But it was when a friend suggested that she started a baking business while waiting for the school to re-open.
What was meant to be a 2-week break turned into a 2-year nationwide school closure.
Teacher Syeri took a leap of faith when she started baking from home for a year before moving into a baking house in Kuala Lumpur.
6 months later, life threw her another curveball. This time around was closer to home and forced her to close the business. But it was not the end for Teacher Syeri.
Going solo, she tried to look for places to relocate the business but after 2021, price hike like never before making baking nearly impossible for her. She returned to teaching—but something had changed. Classrooms no longer felt the same. The pandemic had shifted everything, including her place in the education world.
Teacher Syeri decided to make a bold comeback with the same brand name, Amused. This time around, Amused serves something different from what it used to be; classic British food.
